POLICE: MAN ASSAULTING WIFE IS SHOT

On Wednesday, around 3 p.m., the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call in reference to a man being shot. Patrol Deputies responded to the 17000 block of Pioneer Trail, in Conroe, where it was reported a male proceeded to the location earlier to confront his wife. The husband and wife are separated and the husband did not live at the location. A physical altercation ensued between the husband and wife outside the residence. The wife was able to call for assistance from a male roommate, who retrieved a shotgun and confronted the husband. Reportedly an altercation then occurred between the two, the husband retrieved a 2×4 and the male roommate discharged the shotgun resulting in the husband being shot with birdshot in the area of his head.  Emergency Medical Services responded to the location and the male that was shot was transported to Memorial Hermann in Houston by PHI Air Medical which landed and met the MCHD unit at Old Houston and SH 242.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Units, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigators, and representatives from the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office responded to the location. The investigation is ongoing.

No charges have been filed at this time. Detectives are still interviewing witnesses and investigating the incident to prepare the case for presentation to a Grand Jury.
