MCHD was dispatched and requested PHI Air Medical to the scene.

FM 1097 was closed as Troopers investigated the crash. Witnesses told troopers that a Baker Meter Services Toyota Tacoma driven by Johnny Nesmith, age 40 of Conroe, had approached the stop sign at Cedar Hill, slowed then rolled into the intersection.

The motorcycle, driven by  Jonas Crookes, 43, of Colmesneil, Texas who was traveling westbound on FM 1097 was forced to take evasive action. As he laid the bike over he was ejected.   Crookes who had a helmet strapped to the motorcycle but was not wearing it suffered a severe head injury.

Crookes had just left Willis with another couple. The two motorcycles were  heading to Bandera, Texas for this weekends Wild Hog Explosion Rally.
