MCPR READERS CRITICALLY INJURED IN MOTORCYCLE CRASH-VEHICLE FLEES THE SCENE

At approximately 12-12:15am, Oct 8, 2017, Lance & Angie Mundkowsky were involved in a hit and run accident while on their motorcycle. They were on their way home traveling 1488 coming out of Field Store, just west of Rice Rd, when a car went to go around a truck in front of them, going into their lane head on. Lance saw the car and started moving over, but the car hit them on the left side head on, as a sideswipe, but head on. Lance was able to keep the motorcycle up on the road and made it to the grass before laying the bike down. The car that hit them continued on and never stopped. Neither did the truck that the car was passing. Angie was able to use her phone to dial 911 for help. Lance and Angie had to be life flighted to Memorial Hermann downtown with life changing injuries. Angie has had her left leg amputated from the mid thigh down and is having surgeries on her arm. Lance has had to have his left leg amputated from mid shin down and has gone through extensive surgeries for his left arm as well. This accident has completely changed their lives. Angie is a hairdresser and this is her lively hood. If you know Angie, you know that her heart is bigger than Texas. She has never hesitated to stop and help her family, friends or even strangers. She does everything with a smile on her face and in her heart. She is truly one of the most genuine and most loving people you will ever meet. She is truly a genuine one of a kind soul.Lance works in sales and travels a lot with his job. Lance, is no different than Angie. Funny, charismatic, loving and will also give his shirt off his back for anyone in need with no hesitation. Lance has been loved beyond words the moment he stepped into our lives. You will never meet two souls as genuine and good as theirs. We as family and friends are asking for help as we will have to do construction on their home making ramps and the house wheel chair accessible before they can come home. Also, a shower for them as well. We are asking for all the help and prayers that we can get to be able to help with construction of their home, medical expenses and for their 15 year old twins at home. Angie and Lance have never skipped a beat in helping others, our community and we are asking for help in their return.Lance and Angie are both in high spirits and two of the strongest people you will ever meet. Please keep them in your prayers as they continue this journey and pray that we are able to find the person(s) that were responsible for this accident. In addition if anyone has information on the vehicles please call DPS.
