Over 100 people attended Thursday mornings unveiling of the eagle honoring World War II veterans at Montgomery’s Memory Park. next to the Charles B. Stewart Library.
The eagle which stands on a large pedestal is 13 feet tall. On each side is a plaque for each of the five Lone Star Honor Flights. On each plaque the veterans who were on the flight have their name engraved along with which branch of the service they served.
Along with students from Montgomery Elementary School on hand to sing patriotic songs Freedom flight provided a fly-by complete with the missing man formation.
This Saturday from 1-4pm the public is invited to join these World War II Veterans at the Ark Church in Conroe to view Honor Flight 4 and 5 videos with special guest Jim McIngvale.
