Early Sunday morning reports from a motorist came into 911 dispatchers in reference to a black GMC pickup going northbound on I-69 near SH 242 driving close to 40miles per hour unable to maintain lanes. The male passenger in the vehicle was reaching out the window attempting to motion for the vehicle behind them to pass. A Precinct 4 Deputy was close by and responded. As the unit approached the Creekwood exit the deputy spotted the truck stopped in the middle of the exit ramp. Just as she pulled up the deputy witnessed the male get out of the passenger seat and go around to the driver’s seat as the female driver crawled into the passenger seat. With the deputies, emergency equipment activated the male drove off. The deputy was finally able to get him to stop. After a field sobriety test both were found to be impaired. That was backed up later by a breathalyzer. Arrested were Maria Angelica Benitez Gomez, 39, of 2100 Lee Turner in Cleveland. She is charged with driving while intoxicated. Also arrested was Ramon Morgan Peraza, 35, also of 2100 Lee Turner in Cleveland. He is charged with driving while intoxicated 2nd.
