Montgomery County Loses County Attorney

October 25, 1949 – March 9, 2019

Montgomery County’s County Attorney, JD Lambright, lost his battle with cancer on the morning of Saturday, March 9, 2019. Lambright was elected to the position in 2012 and re-elected in 2016, beginning his second term in office in January 2017. Prior to becoming County Attorney, Lambright had a private law practice in Conroe. He was a graduate of Texas Tech University before attending the South Texas College of Law.

During JD Lambright’s years as County Attorney, he was voted Boss of the Year twice, and the County Attorney’s Office was voted Department of the Year in 2013, 2016, and again in 2018. All of these honors were a great source of pride for Lambright.

He was well-known and well-liked throughout Montgomery County, and was usually found at any event of any significance, regardless of how inconvenient the timing or location. Lambright was a constant in most things pertaining to Montgomery County. He smiled easily and often, which made him welcome pretty much anywhere.

Lambright’s illness was kept quiet and his family’s privacy was respected during his final days.

We have no information regarding services to post at this time, but we will update with those details if or when that is made public.

Please keep the Lambright family and the County Attorney’s Office family in your prayers.

Rest in Peace, JD.
