4/25/2016 – Around 1:45pm, Pct. 4 deputies were investigating a tip about the selling and possessing of illegal narcotics (methamphetamine and heroin) in the 22000 blk of Adams St. in Porter, TX. The investigation led to the finding of methamphetamine in the shack the suspect, identified as James Wortman, 5/3/83 from Porter, TX. was staying in. The investigation also located a stolen white enclosed trailer. As deputies tried to place Wortman in custody, he began to fight. It was believed, because of Wortman’s actions and demeanor that he was under the influence of some substance. As deputies kept trying to place Wortman in custody, his pit bull mix charged deputies, aggressively biting one deputy several times. The deputy had no choice but to shoot the dog. It was then Wortman stopped resisting and was able to be taken into custody. Wortman was charged with the alleged Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a 1st degree felony. He was also charged with the alleged Theft (of the trailer) a state jail felony and alleged Resisting Arrest, a class A misdemeanor.
4/27/2016 – Just after 2am, Pct. 4 deputy stopped a red SUV for speeding and driving in the turn lane (center lane between the east and west bound lanes of traffic) in the area of FM 1485 and Vick Rd. in New Caney, TX. After the driver took a half mile to stop, the deputy made contact with the driver, Gary Hahn, 9/20/50 from Porter, TX. As the deputy asked Hahn to exit the vehicle, it began to roll backwards towards the deputy’s car because he had not put the car in park, but in reverse. The deputy started a DWI investigation and found that Hahn could not complete the tests due to not being able to stand without assistance and not being able to follow instructions. Hahn was arrested on an alleged class B misdemeanor, Driving While Intoxicated.
4/28/2016 – 2:45am, Pct. 4 deputy stopped to speak to a suspicious person who was sitting in front of a closed Valero gas station on Fostoria Rd. in Cleveland, TX. David Reynolds, 1/28/74 from Conroe, TX The deputy did a quick pat down for weapons and discovered a glass pipe that is commonly used for smoking methamphetamine. An investigation showed Reynolds to also be in possession of methamphetamine he carried in a small pink plastic baggie. Reynolds was placed in custody for the alleged possession of a controlled substance, a state jail felony.
4/28/2016 – Around 11:30pm, a Pct.4 deputy was approached in the parking lot of the Pct. 4 office by a female who stated she had a warrant for her arrest. The deputy found that Lauren Burgamy 5/14/86 from Porter, TX did have an active misdemeanor warrant and she was placed under arrest and transported to the Montgomery County jail.
4/29/2016 – At 2:40am, Pct. 4 deputies were asked to assist a New Caney ISD Police Officer with an intoxicated subject. Upon arrival, it was found that Jeffrey Swallows, 11/6/82 from Porter, TX was highly intoxicated and was arrested for the alleged offense of Public Intoxication, a class C misdemeanor.
4/30/2016 – Around 10am, Pct. 4 deputy arrived at a residence in the 21300 block of Avett Dr. in Porter, TX regarding a criminal trespass call. Upon arrival, the deputy discovered that Matthew Laws, 3/9/78 was criminally trespassing on the property. He was arrested for the alleged Criminal Trespass, a class B misdemeanor.
4/30/2016 – At 6:45pm, Pct. 4 deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic offense. During an investigation, the deputy’s partner – K9 Deputy Hashish gave a positive alert for a scent the K9 was been trained to alert on. The deputy located marijuana in the center console. The driver, Norman Street Jr., 11/23/95 from Coldspring, TX was arrested for the alleged Possession of Marijuana, a class B misdemeanor.
