A Porter man is behind bars following an investigation by Capt. Mark Seals and Sgt. Art Looza of the Precinct 4 Constable’s Office, and Investigator JJ Stitt of the Precinct 3 Constable’s Office, all of whom are specially trained to investigate internet child predator and child pornography crime.
Daniel Salgado Olascuaga, 36, of Porter is charged with four counts of second-degree felony Possession with Intent to Promote Child Pornography. The U.S. Department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has also placed a hold on him. Bond for the four felonies is set at $400,000. However, Olascuaga would not be released if bond were posted because of the ICE hold.
Investigators obtained and executed a search warrant on March 15 at Olascuaga’s residence in the 24800 block of Wayne Road, accompanied by units from the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office. They recovered a laptop computer from the travel trailer where he resides containing multiple images depicting male children as young as 5 to 6 years of age engaging in sexual acts.
The investigators are working on multiple other cases pertaining to internet-based sex crimes against children.
