K-9 Libby joined the PCT 4 family in early 2015 at around 5 years old. She was rescued through the Montgomery County Animal Shelter Texas, then a donor sent her to training so she could hit the streets. Libby spent the next few years serving the citizens of East Montgomery County alongside her partner/handler J. Bullinger. The pair was not only a force on patrol, but Libby quickly became an ambassador for Pit Bulls and animal rescue organizations. From multiple trips to local schools and events, to even “throwing” out the first pitch at an Astros game, Libby was always a crowd favorite. After a few years of service, Libby was medically retired. She has spent her retirement as a permanent member of the Bullinger family, which eventually included her handler’s new K-9 partner Harley Quinn. Unfortunately, over time, Libby developed irreversible health problems that cause her extreme pain. Earlier this evening, surrounded by multiple friends and family, along with some of her brothers in blue, Libby took her last ride in a patrol unit. Her pain is no more.
Rest easy sweet girl…We’ll take the watch from here.
