MONTGOMERY COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE BLOTTER FOR WEEK ENDING JUNE 21, 2011

District 1 – Lt. Jim Fleming (North County)

On June 13, Deputy A. Booher was notified of a disturbance call on East Ravine Run. A male suspect involved in the disturbance was seen walking away from the home. The Deputy stopped the male and during the investigation the male was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and a dangerous drug. The 21 year old male from Willis was arrested at 7:46pm and transported to jail.

A 30 year old female from Conroe was arrested at 12:36pm, June 14, in the 17700 block of Hwy 105 E by Deputy T. Boerema for a motion to revoke probation warrant (original charge of burglary of a habitation) out of Montgomery County. The Deputy had received information on the suspect’s location.

A 30 year old male from Willis was arrested at 11:29am, June 15, in the 11000 block of Vernwood by Deputy J. Kader for a DWI w/child warrant out of Montgomery County. The Deputy had received information on the suspect’s location.

A 34 year old male from Conroe was arrested at 3:57pm, June 15, in the 10500 block of Royal Forest Drive by Deputy J. Kader for a manufacture/delivery dangerous drug warrant out of San Jacinto County. The Deputy was investigating a welfare concern. The male was transported to jail.

A 74 year old male from Willis was arrested at 5:42pm, June 15, in the 1600 block of Brandon Lane by Sgt. P. Smith for a DWI 3rd warrant out of Walker County. The Deputy was investigating a trespass call. The male was taken to jail.

A 26 year old male from Conroe was arrested at 8:17pm, June 15, in the 13900 block of FM 1314 by Deputy K. Albritton for two traffic warrants out of Montgomery County. The Deputy was investigating a harassment call. The male was taken to jail.

On June 15, Deputy S. Degner responded to a disturbance in progress on Vistawood Drive. On arrival the Deputy was advised several people had been arguing and fighting. Each person blamed others of displaying various weapons including a baseball bat that had been used by a female suspect to break a window. When the glass shattered some of the glass hit a two year old boy causing some small cuts. A male threw a computer case at an adult male causing some small cuts. Another male caused damage to the homeowner’s door with a bat. After the investigation was complete, three subjects were arrested. A 38 year old male was charged with criminal mischief, a 28 year old male was charged with assault and a 30 year old female was charged with injury to a child. All subjects were from Willis and all were transported to jail.

On June 16, Deputy K. Berger stopped a vehicle on a traffic violation in the area of Amar Drive and FM 1484. The male driver was found to be operating the vehicle with an invalid driver’s license. The male had been charged multiple times for this offense since 2005. The male was arrested at 2:43am and transported to jail.

A 48 year old male from Willis was arrested at 8:04pm, June 16, in the 11600 block of Vistawood by Deputy S. Degner for a failure to appear warrant out of Conroe PD. The Deputy was investigating a disturbance. The male was taken to jail.

A 21 year old male from Cleveland was arrested at 1:41am, June 18, in the 18300 block of Hwy 105E by Deputy C. Santoro for two traffic warrants out of Patton Village PD. The Deputy was investigating an assault. The male was transported to jail.

On June 19, Deputy J. Bourne was sent to Gulf Coast Road for a family violence assault. The Deputy met with a female complainant who stated she and her husband had been involved in a physical fight and that the male had choked her to the point that she passed out. The female had finger marks on her throat. The 43 year old male from Conroe was arrested at 8:47pm and transported to jail.

District 2 – Lt. Brady Fitzgerald (South County)

On June 8, 2011, Deputy Rascoe and Sergeant Barber were dispatched to a residence on Valleywood Drive in reference to a Disturbance. Upon arrival they found that the suspect, 28 year old male from Spring, had kicked in the front door to continue a verbal argument. The argument progressed and became physical. Both parties showed signs of minor injuries. The suspect was taken into custody for Assault Family Violence to ensure no further violence would take place.

On June 9, 2011, Deputy Sibille was dispatched to the 26000 block of Interstate 45 in reference to an assault. The suspect, 31-year-old male from Dallas, was found to have slurred speech, watery red eyes and could not stand up without assistance. Deputy Sibille took the suspect into custody for Public Intoxication and transported him to the Montgomery County Jail.

On June 13, 2011, Deputy Underwood responded to a Welfare Check in the parking lot of the Imperial Chase Apartments. The suspect, 31-year-old male from Spring, was found passed out in the middle of the parking lot. After he was awakened by deputies and evaluated by EMS, the suspect became argumentative. The suspect was taken into custody for Public Intoxication. During transport the Montgomery County Jail, the suspect stated multiple times he would beat up the deputy and assault the deputy’s family. Additional charges for Terroristic Threat of a Public Servant were added.

On June 13, 2011, Deputy Ward was dispatched to an Assault Family Violence on Boars Head Place. The complainant stated that the suspect, 49-year-old male from Magnolia, came to her residence and argued about her dogs. During the argument the suspect slapped the complainant across the face. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail charge with Assault Family Violence.

District 3 – Lt. Darrel Conn (East County)

On 6/13/11 Sgt. Kendrick was dispatched to a residence on Green Pines Rd. in reference to a disturbance. Upon his arrival he learned that the suspect had assaulted the complainant by hitting and scratching him in the head. The suspect then punched several holes in the screen of a big screen TV. The suspect, a 30 year old female from Humble was arrested and charged with Assault Family Violence.

On 6/14/11 Deputy Amstutz observed a female walking on Loop 494 and she appeared intoxicated and was nearly struck by several vehicles. The female was arrested for Public Intoxication. The suspect, a 44 year old female from New Caney spit on the Deputies face and during transport to the jail continued to curse and spit on the Deputy. The female was further charged with Harassment of a Public Servant, a 3rd Degree Felony.

On 6/14/11 Deputy Amstutz was dispatched to the 15000 block of Vaughn Ln. in reference to a suspicious person possibly taking property from a vacant building. Upon his arrival he made contact with a suspicious female. The female was checked and shown to have seven traffic warrants out of Pct. 4 Justice of the Peace. The suspect, a 46 year old female from Splendora was arrested for the warrants.

On 6/14/11 Deputy Azwell was on patrol on Dogwood Dr. and observed an ATV on the roadway. Upon conducting a traffic stop the driver appeared nervous. The deputy was able to determine that the ATV was stolen. Upon searching the driver a small amount of marijuana was located in his pocket. The suspect, a 40 year old male from New Caney was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana and Theft.

On 6/15/11 Deputy White was dispatched to a residence on East River Rd in reference to a family violence. Upon his arrival he learned that the suspect became mad during an argument and took a hatchet and broke windows in the home. The suspect also threw her sisters cell phone into the street. A physical altercation ensues and the suspect assaulted several individuals. The suspect, a 20 year old female from Splendora was arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief and Assault.

On 6/17/11 Deputy Amstutz was dispatched to a disturbance on E. Martin Dr. Upon his arrival he made contact with one of the parties in the disturbance and she was found to have several outstanding traffic warrants. The suspect, a 25 year old female from Porter was arrested for the warrants.

On 6/18/11 Deputy Dunn was dispatched to a residence on Pin Oak Rd. in reference to a family violence. Upon his arrival he learned that the suspect choked the victim until she could not breathe. The suspect, a 20 year old male from New Caney was arrested and charged with Assault (strangulation)(family violence), a third degree felony.

On 6/18/11 Deputy Azwell was dispatched to a residence on 7th St. in reference to a family violence. Upon his arrival he met with a male that stated that he and his wife were arguing and he called the police. As the officers were on scene they observed numerous marijuana plants in plain view behind a shed on the property. The 42 year old male from Splendora was arrested and charged with Felony Possession of Marijuana.

On 6/19/11 Senior Sergeant Altemus received a Crime Stoppers tip that a Montgomery County’s wanted suspect was at a residence in Splendora. Upon arrival to the residence it was searched and the suspect was not there. Sergeant Altemus obtained a phone number for the suspect and contacted her on the phone. She then agreed to turn herself in at an address in Cleveland and Sergeant Altemus met her there and she was taken into custody without incident. The suspect, a 29 year old female from Splendor was arrested for a probation violation with the original charge of Felony Theft.

On 6/19/11 Deputy T. Smith was dispatched to a disturbance at a residence on Scott Garner Rd. Upon arrival he spoke with several parties in the disturbance. Two suspects were found to have active traffic warrants. A 28 year old male and 30 year old female were both arrested without incident.

On 6/20/11 Deputy Jackson was dispatched to a residence on W. Wallis Dr. in reference to a disturbance. Upon his arrival he learned that the suspect had pushed the victim. The suspect, a 49 year old male from Porter was arrested and charged with Assault.

On 6/21/11 Deputy Rippley was dispatched to a residence on W. Memorial Dr. in reference to a Family Violence call. Upon her arrival she met with a male that had an active warrant for Criminal Mischief and Assault. The suspect, a 48 year old male from Porter was arrested for the warrants.

District 4 – Lt. David Park (West County)

On June 19th Deputy Mittag was dispatched to the 23000 block of Nichol Sawmill Road in reference to Criminal Mischief. The Complainant advised that the windshield of his vehicle was shattered by a rock as he was driving on Robert Cemetery. The rock had been thrown by a male in another vehicle. Deputies located the suspect and an 18 year old male was arrested for Criminal Mischief.

On June 18th Deputy Overbay was dispatched to a liquor store located on FM 1774 in reference to a Theft. Upon arrival the deputy met with the complainant who said that he observed two black males enter the store and one of suspects concealed several bottles of alcohol in his pants and left the store without paying for it. The suspects have not been identified.

On June 17th Deputy Crandell responded to a business located in the 12500 block of Wanda Lane in Magnolia. The business owner advised that between the hours of 10:00 pm and 6:00 am on June 17th the shop had been broken into and over 1200 sheets of aluminum weighing over 2000 pounds had been stolen. A small number of small tools were also missing.

On June 17th Deputy Irvine was dispatched to the Country Pines Subdivision in reference to a Theft. Upon arrival the Deputy spoke with the complainant who advised that the A/C unit was missing from an unoccupied home and that the copper wire was taken from a fuse panel and that a counter top stove was missing.

On June 13th Senior Sergeant Webb spoke by phone to the complainant who now lives in California regarding a Theft. The Complainant advised he had contracted with a moving company in Houston in November 2010 to move the contents of his house to storage and then move the items to California once he found a home. In May 2011 the victim attempted to contact the company and the phones had been disconnected. The victim is missing the contents of his home. This case has been referred to the detective office.

District 5 – Lt. Gary Welch (Northwest County)

On 06/15/11 Deputy J. Farmer responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 22800 blk. of Hwy 105W. While conducting his investigation, a white female approached the scene and began speaking to witnesses of the accident. Deputy Farmer overheard the female who was not involved in the accident tell the witnesses the she was drunk and needed to leave before she was caught. Deputy Farmer interviewed the female and determined that she was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. The female was placed into custody for Public Intoxication and transported to MCSO jail without incident.

On 06/18/11 Deputy D. Pugh was traveling Eastbound at the 19400 blk. of Hwy 105W, when he observed a gray passenger car make an illegal U-turn. Deputy Pugh conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and spoke with the driver. Deputy Pugh could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the male’s person. Upon the conclusion of the investigation, the male was place into custody for Driving While Intoxicated and transported to MCSO jail.

On 06/19/11 Deputy J. Davis was dispatched to Highpoint Circle. Upon Deputy Davis’ arrival he heard a verbal disturbance going on inside the residence. When the deputy went into the residence he could smell the odor of marijuana and marijuana in plain view. Upon conclusion of the investigation, two males and two females were placed into custody for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of a Controlled Substance and transported to MCSO jail.

On 06/19/11 Deputy J. Davis saw a passenger car exited a parking lot almost striking the deputy’s vehicle. Deputy Davis activated his emergency equipment and the vehicle accelerated rapidly and pulled into another business just two blocks away. Deputy Davis stopped behind the vehicle and a white female and white male got out of the car. The two failed to stop when given verbal commands and continued into the business. Both subjects were later detained and it was found that both subjects were under the influence of an intoxicating beverage. The female was placed into custody for Driving While Intoxicated and Evading Arrest, and the male was placed into custody for Evading Arrest. Both were transported to MCSO jail.

District 6 – Lt. David Dottei (Woodlands)

On June 12, 2011, Deputy Prince responded to a Welfare Check at 1470 Lake Woodlands Drive. The witness stated the suspect, 69 year old male from Conroe, had driven in the exit of the car wash, and then came up to the store window to ask directions. The suspect was taken into custody for Driving While Intoxicated. During a search of the vehicle deputies found crack cocaine. The suspect was also charged with State Jail Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance.

On June 16, 2011, at approximately 1 a.m., Deputy Abdelbaky conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling eastbound on Woodlands Parkway. Upon making contact with the driver, 24-year-old male from Spring, Deputy Abdelbaky noticed an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the drivers breath that got stronger as they spoke. After conducting the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, the suspect was taken into custody for Driving While Intoxicated and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

On June 20, 2011, Deputy Rawley was dispatched to the area of Murmuring Creek in reference to a Suspicious Vehicle. Upon locating the vehicle, Deputy Rawley made contact with the driver, 27-year-old male from The Woodlands and his passenger, 19-year-old male from The Woodlands. Deputy Rawley advised the suspects that he could smell burnt marijuana. The driver was taken into custody and charged with Possession of Marijuana and was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Shoplifting Arrest(s):

6/14 – Deputy Weatherford was called to a Theft call at 1201 Lake Woodlands Drive. The suspect attempted to take $29.98 worth of merchandise from Spencer’s Gifts. The suspect originally gave Deputy Weatherford a false birthdate, but admitted he lied when a family member was contacted. The suspect, 17-year-old male from New Waverly, was taken into custody for Failure to Identify to a Peace Officer and was transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident. The suspect was also issued a citation for the original Theft charge.

6/17 – Deputy Johnson arrested a 23 year old female from Houston for Theft at 1201 Lake Woodlands Drive. The suspect attempted to take $100.50 worth of merchandise from Macy’s. The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

6/17 – Deputy Harrison arrested a 20 year old female from Magnolia for Theft at 10001 Woodlands Parkway. The suspect attempted to take $70.73 worth of merchandise from Wal-Mart. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

6/11 – Deputy Ansley arrested a 47 year old female from Houston for Theft at 1201 Lake Woodlands Drive. The suspect attempted to take $1312.20 worth of merchandise from J.C. Penny’s. The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident. Due to the suspect having an extensive criminal history, including several convictions for Theft, charges were upgraded to a State Jail Felony.

Public Intoxication Arrest(s):

6/18 – Deputy Hardin, while patrolling the area of Grogan’s Mill and Lake Woodlands, observed a male and female walking in the roadway. The suspects, 39-year-old male from Gibson, LA and a 38-year-old female from Houston, were having a hard time maintaining their balance, and several cars had to swerve to avoid hitting them. Deputy Hardin made contact with the suspects and both had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from their breath. Both suspects were taken into custody for Public Intoxication and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

6/18 – Deputy Conklin arrested a 28 year old male from The Woodlands for Public Intoxication. The suspect was observed staggering south on Water Way Avenue and then sitting down on a curb. Deputy Conklin and Deputy Scanlon made contact with the suspect and noticed him to have red blood shot eyes, slurred speech, and a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

6/11 – Sergeant Sumrall, while working security at The Waterway Marriott, was advised by staff members that a subject was on the waterway kicking the lawn furniture. Upon making contact with the suspect, Sergeant Sumrall immediately noticed a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath and person. The suspect also exhibited slurred speech and was very unsteady on his feet. The suspect, 29-year-old male from Shreveport, LA., was placed into custody for Public Intoxication. Deputy Conklin arrived on scene and transported the suspect to the Montgomery County Jail. A check of the suspects driver’s license, found that he had an outstanding warrant for Assault Family Violence out of Travis County.
