MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT SENDS ONE TO HOUSTON ON LIFEFLIGHT

Just after 6:15pm Caney Creek Fire Department was dispatched just down the street from their station to a motorcycle accident on FM 2090 just east of FM 1485. On their arrival they found a female in serious condition and the male motorcycle driver walking around with some road rash.

MCHD arrived shortly after and requested Life Flight for 24-year-old Tiffany Hooper who was in serious condition. Her father Bill Hooper age 42 refused medical treatment on the scene. Life Flight respond and River Plantation Fire Department responded to assist Caney Creek with a helicopter landing zone.

According to DPS Trooper Jimmy Sutton Hooper was eastbound on FM 2090  after just pulling away from the traffic light at FM 1485. As he attempted to pass a truck the truck turned his turn signals on requiring the motorcycle to take evasive action. This resulted in Hooper laying the bike down and letting it slide over 540 feet to it’s resting spot in the ditch. No other vehicles were involved.

Ed Hooper received citations for Failure to have a class M motorcycle license and traveling at unsafe speed.

FM 2090 was closed for close to an hour as Troopers investigated the accident.
