The Harris County Forensic Center has identified the driver of the motorcycle killed in a Sunday morning pursuit as Alfredo Tovar, 34, of Houston. Tovar was riding his motorcycle and taunting police by revving his engine and popping wheelies while they were on a traffic stop.
He then fled down a street near his home and ran a stop sign as he approached the intersection of Chaplin and the North Sam Houston Toll Road, then, was struck by a motorist on the feeder. That motorist, driving a dark-colored SUV, possibly a Lincoln Navigator, then fled the scene after stopping momentarily. Harris County Precinct 4 deputies were quite a distance behind when the crash occurred.
Anyone with information on the SUV is asked to call Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office at 281-376-3472.
