MURDER SUICIDE SHOOTING AT LAKE CONROE

Just after 11 p.m. Wednesday, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received a shooting report from a man staying at the Thousand Trails RV Park in the 11700 block of Thousand Trails on the east side of Lake Conroe. He told 911 operators his father-in-law contacted him, stating he had shot the caller’s mother-in-law, and was threatening to shoot himself.

Donald Jacobson, 69, told his son-in-law he had killed his 65-year-old wife, Lucille, with a shotgun.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, along with Montgomery County Hospital District medics and North Montgomery County Fire Department. Deputies arrived where the Jacobson’s parked their motorhome and inside, they found the husband and wife dead.

Lucille Jacobson was killed by a shotgun blast to the upper torso. Donald Jacobson died from an apparent self-inflicted shotgun blast to the head.

Two small dogs who were at the scene were picked up by animal control but later turned over to the Jacobson’s daughter.

Detectives are still attempting to determine a reason for the shootings and will continue to interview family and friends.

Detectives say they seldom make a call in the very quiet and secure RV Park.
