MURDER SUICIDE IN THE WOODLANDS

According to Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Schmitt, the Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Ashbranch Court the Woodlands just after 9 p.m. for a reported shooting. A family member returned home and found James Gregory Crawford in bed. Thinking it was earlier than normal for James Gregory Crawford to be in bed, the family member got closer and saw the gunshot wound. He immediately backed out of the house and called 911. When deputies arrived, they searched the home. That is when they found 90-year-old James Milford Crawford dead with a single gunshot wound. According to Schmitt, James Milford Crawford had shown signs of dementia in the past. They believe his son, James Gregory Crawford shot him and then turned the gun on himself. They are calling it a murder suicide. Montgomery County Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace Conley responded to the scene and ordered an autopsy. Eickenhorst Funeral Directors transported the deceased to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy.
