      More bad news for East Montgomery County and parts of Liberty and Harris Counties…

3:40 a.m. CDT Sunday August 27, 2017

…The National Weather Service in Houston/Galveston has issued a flood warning
for the following rivers…

East Fork San Jacinto Near New Caney affecting the following counties in Texas:



Caney Creek near Splendora affecting the following counties in Texas:



For Caney Creek at Splendora, Major flooding is forecasted. For East Fork San
Jacinto River at New Caney, Moderate flooding is forecasted.

The current weather is dominated by a persistent area of showers and thunderstorms.
This weather system will produce rainfall amounts ranging from 5 to 15 inches.
The extended outlook is for additional heavy rainfall.


Persons are urged to stay away from the river until water levels recede.

Motorists should avoid any water covered roads and find an alternate route.

Livestock and equipment should remain out of the flood plain for the next few

The National Weather Service in Houston/Galveston has issued a

* Flood Warning for
The Caney Creek Near Splendora.
* from this afternoon to Wednesday evening…or until the warning is canceled.
* At 0230 AM Sunday the stage was 10.8 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Forecast…Rise above flood stage this afternoon and continue to rise to
near 22.8 feet by tomorrow early afternoon.the river will fall below flood
stage by late Wednesday morning.
* At 21.0 feet…Major lowland flooding begins with Buckingham Place Road on
right upstream side threatened as water begins to cover Crockett-Martin Road
on the left upstream side.
