October 12, 2010 Weekly Media Summary & “BLOTTER” Review

District 1 – Lt. Jim Fleming (North County)

A 31 year old female from Spring was arrested at 12:15am, October 4, in the area of Loop 336 and Hwy 105E by Deputy J. Kellum for a theft by check warrant out of Montgomery County. The female was a passenger in a vehicle stopped on a traffic violation. She was taken to jail.

A 34 year old male from Magnolia was arrested at 7:02pm, October 4, in the 1400 block of Airport Road by Sgt. P. Smith for three traffic warrants out of Conroe PD. The Deputy was investigating a trespass call. The male was taken to jail.

On October 5, Deputy D. Pena was sent to the 11500 block of FM 1484 in reference to a theft in progress call. The Deputy met with a female complainant, a male suspect and female suspect. The Deputy was advised by the complainant that her granddaughter (female suspect) had come into her house to use the bathroom and after she left the complainant said two rings were missing. The complainant took her handgun with her and confronted the female suspect about the rings. The male suspect grabbed the complainant and pushed her down injuring her. The female suspect gave one of the rings back and later offered to give her money for taking the ring. The Deputy observed the female suspect give the other ring back to the complainant. The 27 year old female from Willis was arrested at 12:20am and charged with theft. The 41 year old male from Splendora was also arrested and charged with injury to the elderly. Both suspects were taken to jail.

On October 5, Deputy J. Hodges and Sgt. P. Smith were dispatched to the 14200 block of East Ravine Run in reference to a family violence assault call. The Deputies met with a male and female complainant and a male suspect. The female complainant and her husband, the suspect, came home from a ball game and the suspect got into an argument with their 21 year old son over rent. The suspect hit his son on the face and the female tried to separate them when she was struck with a closed fist on the mouth by the suspect. The 42 year old male from Willis was arrested at 9:22pm, charged with two counts of assault and taken to jail.

A 27 year old male from Conroe was detained on a Liberty County theft warrant at 11:00pm, October 5, in the 15000 block of Cedar Circle by Deputy S. Degner. The Deputy met with Liberty County Detectives and the male was turned over to them.

A 33 year old female from Conroe was arrested at 12:31am, October 6, in the 17300 block of Deer Run by Deputy K. Underwood for an assault causing bodily injury warrant and a criminal mischief warrant, both out of Montgomery County. The Deputy had received prior information on the female’s location. She was transported to jail.

On October 6, Deputy S. Degner was sent to the area of Crockett Martin and Highline in reference to a possible intoxicated driver being followed by a citizen. The Deputy located the vehicle which was observed swerving all over the road. The 32 year old male driver from Conroe was arrested at 8:10pm, charged with DWI and transported to jail.

On October 6, Deputy K. Underwood was notified of a family violence assault in the 15100 block of Hwy 75N. The Deputy met with a female complainant who advised her male cousin had come to the house and started yelling at her. He hit her with a stick and slammed her down on the ground multiple times. He grabbed her by the throat and punched her knocking her glasses off. The male suspect had run off into the woods where the Deputy located him and detained him. During a search the male was found to be in possession of marijuana. The female victim was transported to the emergency room. The 47 year old male from Willis was arrested at 11:04pm, charged with assault and possession of marijuana and transported to jail.

On October 7, Deputy K. Albritton responded to the 4500 block of Grand Oaks in reference to a family violence assault call. The Deputy met with a male complainant who advised he and his wife were involved in a verbal argument over a vehicle. The female suspect slapped her husband three times on the side of the face while he was sitting in the vehicle. The 24 year old female from Willis was arrested at 7:30pm and transported to jail.

A 36 year old female from Conroe was arrested at 7:30pm, October 7, in the 2000 block of Jeffcote Road by Deputy S. Degner for a theft by check warrant out of Montgomery County and three traffic warrants out of Conroe PD. The Deputy was investigating a disturbance. The female was taken to jail.

A 19 year old male from Conroe was arrested at 12:15am, October 8, in the area of Hwy 75 East and Crockett Trace by Deputy K. Berger for an assault causes bodily injury warrant out of Montgomery County. The Deputy was investigating a suspicious person outside of a business that was closed for the night. The male was taken to jail.

On October 8, Deputy K. Berger along with other Deputies and Deputy Constables were dispatched to the 12300 block of FM 830 in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival Deputies observed two intoxicated females fighting. Each was detained. Upon speaking with a 33 year old male from Huffman it was found he had an outstanding warrant out of Galveston County for a probation violation. He was detained. As it turned out, the male was arrested for the warrant, two males, 25 and 34 years of age, from Willis, and the two females, ages 21 and 32, also from Willis, were all arrested at approximately 11:45pm for public intoxication and taken to jail.

On October 8, Deputy J. Kellum was sent to the area of Pecan and Hulon for a disturbance call involving a male hitting a woman holding a baby. The Deputy spoke with witnesses at the scene and found that the male had driven his vehicle and cut the female off as she was walking. The male then threw the female in the vehicle and appeared to have thrown the baby inside also. The 25 year old male from Willis was arrested at 9:00pm, charged with family violence assault causes bodily injury and also three Willis PD traffic warrants. He was taken to jail.

On October 10, Deputy K. Underwood was notified of a family violence assault call in the 16800 block of Highline Blvd. The Deputy met with a female complainant who stated she and her husband had gotten into an argument and he grabbed her by the arm and threw her into the kitchen cabinets. The 41 year old male from Conroe was arrested at 12:16am and taken to jail.

On October 10, Sgt. D. Bonner was dispatched to meet with Conroe PD units in the 1300 block of West Davis. A male had been stopped on traffic and during consent to search the vehicle; the officers observed a Dewalt 18 volt tool set still in the box. The officers contacted the store on FM 1488 from where the tool set was from and found that it was stolen. Sgt. Bonner took over the investigation. The 35 year old male from Montgomery was arrested at 11:19am and transported to jail.

District 2 – Lt. Brady Fitzgerald (South County)

On October 7, 2010, Deputy Zavorski arrested a 21 year old Male from Spring after the suspect stated he had been driving around “testing” his car and smoking marijuana. Deputy Zavorski determined that the “testing” of the vehicle included driving the vehicle at excessive speeds in the residential neighborhood and attempting to take a 90-degree turn without slowing down. The suspect lost control of his vehicle striking a stop sign and then driving through a window and brick wall before stopping on top of a bed inside a home on Hopeton Drive. Deputy Zavorski contacted the District Attorney’s Office and charges were accepted for Deadly Conduct. The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

On October 8, 2010, Deputy Fruge arrested a 16 year old Female from Spring 32858 FM 2978 for Theft. The suspect attempted to take approximately $201.73 worth of merchandise from Target. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Facility without incident.

On October 9, 2010, Deputy Fruge arrested a 28 year old Female from Magnolia after responding to an Assault Family Violence call on Autumn Day Ct. The suspect and complainant had been arguing when the suspect struck the complainant in the face with her cell phone. The complainant sustained a cut to her nose as well as swelling. The complainant’s glasses were also broken during the incident. Deputy Fruge contacted the District Attorney’s Office and charges for Assault Family Violence and Criminal Mischief were accepted. The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

On October 11, 2010, Deputy Maldonado and Deputy Swank were on patrol and initiated a traffic stop on Sawdust Road due to a vehicle speeding. The suspect was driving 50 mph in a 35 mph zone. The driver, 31 year old Female from Spring, of the vehicle stated she had just finished work and was going to meet some friends. The driver had an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from her breath while speaking with the deputies. She stated that she had had one beer and agreed to perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. The driver showed no signs of intoxication. The driver, however, was found to be in possession of 4 Hydrocodone pills for which she did not have a prescription. Deputy Maldonado contacted the District Attorney’s Office and charges were accepted for Possession of Controlled Substance. The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County Jail in Conroe without incident.

District 3 – Lt. Darrel Conn (East County)

On 10/7/10 Deputy T. Smith was dispatched to the 14000 block of Allendale in reference to a Family Violence in progress call. Upon his arrival he met with the victim and learned that the suspect had kicked, hit and slapped her. The victim showed signs of injury. The suspect, a 32 year old male from Conroe was arrested and charged with Assault Family Violence.

On 10/11/10 Deputy Ortiz was dispatched to the Porter Walmart in reference to a shoplifter call. Upon his arrival he learned that the suspect had concealed $10 worth of merchandise but was recognized by loss prevention as a suspect in a prior Theft case. The suspect had previously been served with a criminal trespass warning for the store. Due to prior Theft convictions the suspects charge was upgraded to Class B Theft. The suspect, a 19 year old female from Porter was also arrested and charged with Criminal Trespass.

On 10/11/10 Deputy Holden was advised of a possible location of a suspect with several warrants. Upon his arrival in the 23000 block of FM 1485 he was able to locate the suspect and warrants were confirmed for Theft and Burglary of a Habitation. The suspect, a 38 year old male from New Caney was arrested for said warrants.

On 10/12/10 Deputy White conducted a traffic stop on FM 1485 for a child not being secured by a seat belt. Upon identifying a passenger in the vehicle she showed to have an outstanding warrant for DWI 2nd. The suspect, a 44 year old female from New Caney was arrested for the warrant. The driver was issued a citation for the child not being secured.

On 10/13/10 Deputy Durrenberger was dispatched to the Porter Walmart in reference to a Theft in progress call. Units were advised that a shoplifting suspect had been approached by a Loss Prevention Officer. Upon being approached by loss prevention the female suspect assaulted the officer and then fled in her vehicle down Loop 494. The vehicle was then located in the 24000 block of Loop 494 and the suspect was detained and positively identified. The suspect, a 48 year old female from Porter was arrested and charged with Robbery.

District 4 – Lt. David Park (West County)

On October 10th Sergeant Russell observed a tan Honda traveling north from Rayford Road. The Sergeant noticed the vehicle did not have a license plate light. A traffic stop was initiated for the violation. The 29 year old male subject advised his license was suspended upon initial contact with him. The subject also had a “stun gun” sitting on his lap when the Sergeant approached his vehicle. The subject advised he had it for protection. The subject had two previous convictions for driving while his license was suspended. He also did not have current insurance. The subject was arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

On October 10th Deputy Crandell was dispatched to a Welfare Check in the 1500 block of Coe Loop in reference to an intoxicated male on the roadway. Upon arrival Deputy Crandell observed a 46 year old male subject stumbling in the roadway. The subject appeared to lunge out at a vehicle in front of the Deputy in an attempt to get a ride. The subject had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech with a strong odor of alcohol emanating from his person. The subject advised he had been drinking all day and was walking home. The subject was taken into custody and charged with Public Intoxication. He was transported to the Montgomery County Jail and issued a citation for PI.

On October 9th Deputy Birch while on patrol in District 4 observed a 47 year old male subject known to him by sight riding a bicycle westbound in the 14200 block of FM 1488. Deputy Birch knew the subject had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for Credit/Debit Card Abuse. Deputy Birch pulled over and made contact with the subject and had dispatch check the subject and confirmed the warrant. At this time the subject advised that he had some marijuana in his right sock. Deputy Birch checked his right sock and found a plastic baggie containing 5 grams of marijuana. The subject was transported to the Montgomery County Jail for his outstanding warrant and an additional charge of Possession of Marijuana.

On October 7th Deputy Crandell responded to a Threat Call at the Pinehurst Country Store in the 35000 Block of SH 249. Upon arrival Deputy Crandell was told by management that a male subject was intoxicated and threatening others at their store causing a disturbance. Deputy Crandell located the subject on the side of the store. The subject smelled of alcohol and advised that he had been drinking bourbon. The subject was taken into custody and charged with Public Intoxication. The subject was transported to the Montgomery County Jail by Deputy Suarez.

On October 7th Deputy Provenzano was dispatched to the Pine Vista subdivision in reference to a Family Violence call. Upon arrival both parties were separated. There were visible injuries on the male subject. No visible marks or injury on the female subject. After interviewing both subjects it was determined the female subject had been the aggressor and she was taken into custody and charged with Family Violence. She was transported to Female Booking in Conroe.

On October 5th Sergeant Russell was dispatched to the 27000 Block of Yellow Rose in reference to a Disturbance in Progress. Upon arrival the male actor had fled the location into the woods. The female Complainant advised that her boyfriend a 50 year old male subject was intoxicated and grabbed her son by the shirt and then struck her. The male subject was located hiding in the woods and taken into custody for Assault Family Violence. The subject was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

On October 5th Sergeant Sumrall conducted a traffic stop for an expired inspection sticker. Upon running the driver’s ID through dispatch the male subject was found to have a warrant for his arrest for child support. The subject was arrested and transported to the South County Jail.

On October 5th Sergeant Sumrall and Deputy Mittag were dispatched to the intersection of Cloverleaf and Rosepine in reference to a Suspicious Person call. Upon arrival the Deputies observed a black SUV parked with it lights off. Two male subjects were sitting on the ground behind the SUV. The resident that had made the 911 call advised he had approached the subjects and asked them what were they doing and they advised him that they were smoking weed. One the subjects had pulled out a yellow bag out of a back pack and gave it to the resident. The deputies observed a large grocery bag with a usable amount of Marijuana. Both male subjects were charged with Felony Possession of Marijuana and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

District 5 – Lt. Don Lacy (Northwest County)

On 10/07/10 Deputy J. Howze was dispatched to the 14600 blk. of Hwy 105 W to assist Night Shift Units. Deputy Howze arrived on location and met with a white female that appeared to be intoxicated. Deputy Howze observed while Deputy J. Davis conducted Standardized Field Sobriety Tests on the female. At the conclusion of the investigation, the female was placed into custody for Driving While Intoxicated.

On 10/08/10 Deputy C. Favorat was dispatched to the 18900 blk. of Walding Rd. When Deputy Favorat arrived on location it was found that a male and female were engaged in a verbal altercation that became physica. The female had been consuming alcoholic beverages prior to her arrival on location and was very uncooperative with law enforcement. The female was placed in custody for Assault Family Violence and transported to MCSO jail without incident.

On 10/08/10 Deputy J. Davis and Deputy R. Durbin were dispatched to Laguna Rd. in reference to a Disturbance in progress. The Deputies arrived on location and met with the Complainant who advised that that his ex-wife arrived on location intoxicated and causing a disturbance. The female was placed into custody for Public Intoxication and transported to MCSO jail.

On 10/09/10 Deputy J. Fluellen and Deputy M. Jackson were dispatched to 11300 Blk. of Glenforest Dr. in reference to a Family Violence in progress. The Deputies arrived on location and met with two females and a male. During the course of the investigation it was determined that the disturbance was verbal however; the female reportee advised that the male was in possession of a firearm and he was a convicted felon. Upon conclusion of the investigation the male was placed into custody for Possession of a Firearm by Felon, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

On 10/10/10 Deputy D. Garner was dispatched to the 16400 blk. of FM 149 in reference to a Family Violence call. Deputy Garner arrived on location and met with the female complainant that advised she got into a verbal argument with her boyfriend that became physical. She advised that after a struggle, she was able to go outside to call 911 from her cell phone. She advised that the male grabbed the phone from her and threw it in the woods. The male was placed into custody for Assault / Family Violence as well as Interference with an Emergency call and transported to MCSO jail.

District 6 – Lt. David Dottei (Woodlands)

On October 8, 2010, multiple deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle call in the area of Trillium Ct. The complainant told dispatchers that the suspects pushed the truck to the end of the street before starting it to drive away. The vehicle was then stopped by Deputy Nedrow, as it was leaving the area. The suspects 17 and 19-year-old males from Conroe stated that all the items in the back of the truck were stolen from vehicles in the area. The 19-year-old suspect was charged with Burglary of a Motor Vehicle while the 17-year-old suspect was charged with Possession of Stolen Property. Both suspects were taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

The following Possession of Marijuana Arrests were reported:

10/2 – Deputy McCoy arrested a 21 year old Male from Cleveland at an address on Gas Light Drive. Deputy McCoy had been dispatched to a disturbance and in talking with the suspect, found that the suspect had 7 5/8 ounces of marijuana in his truck. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

10/4 – Sgt. Gonzales arrested 26 year old Male from Montgomery after a traffic stop on S. Panther Creek. The suspect was unable to provide a driver’s license or insurance for the vehicle. A warrant check yielded three warrants out of Conroe PD. The suspect was taken into custody and placed in Sgt. Gonzales’ patrol vehicle. While conducting a search of the suspect’s vehicle for towing, a backpack was found with drug paraphernalia and 1.5 grams of marijuana. The suspect was charged with Possession of Marijuana, in addition to the three warrants. He was transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

10/8 – Deputy Underwood arrested 15 year old male from Spring at Many Pines and Woodlands Parkway. Deputy Underwood had noticed a number of juveniles in the parking lot of a closed business and stopped to ascertain what they were doing in the area at 10:30 pm. Deputy Underwood found in a backpack a pill bottle with marijuana. The suspects were taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Facility. A wooden club was found in the vehicle.

10/10 – Deputy Ortiz arrested a 23 year old Male from The Woodlands after a traffic stop on College Park Drive. During the course of the traffic stop, Deputy Ortiz found the driver to be in possession of marijuana and a glass smoking pipe. The driver was taken into custody for Possession of Marijuana and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

The following DWI Arrests were reported:

10/4 – Deputy Drake arrested a 41 year old Female from Spring after a traffic stop on E. Panther Creek. The suspect was unable to complete the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests due to her level of Intoxication. She was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail in Conroe.

10/4 – Deputy Nedrow arrested a 25 year old Male from Magnolia after responding to a suspicious vehicle on W. Alden Bridge Drive. Deputy Nedrow observed the vehicle stopped at a traffic light with the driver asleep with the engine running and in gear. Deputy Nedrow then made contact with the driver and proceeded to administer the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. Due to his level of intoxication, the driver was unable to complete the tests. He was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail in Conroe.

10/8 – Deputy Prince arrested a 27 year old Male from Conroe after he observed the driver run a stop sign and a stop light in the area of Six Pines and Timberloch Drive. The suspect had and extremely strong smell of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person, red, glassy, bloodshot eyes, and had to use his vehicle to maintain his balance. When asked to perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests the suspect refused, stating he read somewhere not do any tests. Deputy Prince contacted the District Attorney’s Office and charges for Driving While Intoxicated were accepted. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

The following Shoplifting Arrests were reported:

10/01 – Deputy Knight arrested a 50 year old Female from Conroe at 3040 College Park Drive for Theft. The suspect attempted to take approximately $58.62 worth of merchandise from Wal-Mart. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

10/02 – Deputy Ansley arrested a 30 year old Female from Houston at 1201 Lake Woodlands for Theft. The suspect attempted to take approximately $186.00 worth of merchandise (clothing and jewelry) from Buckles. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Facility without incident.
