Just after 4:15 p.m. this afternoon several motorcycle officers were escorting a funeral procession to the Klien Funeral Home on FM 1488 in Magnolia. When they entered the intersection of Tamina Road several witnesses stated a gold Toyota struck one of the motorcycles. However DPS Troopers were unable to locate any paint transfer from the car to the motorcycle. The vehicle continued down FM 1488. They believe Officer Shannon of the Harris County Precinct 4 Constables Office took evasive action and when he did Officer Castillo with the Port of Houston Police slammed into Shannon with his Goldwing motorcycle.

MCHD with the assistance of the Magnolia Fire Department treated both officers on the scene. Deputy Shannon was then transported to St. Luke’s Hospital in stable condition with a crushed left leg. Officer Castillo  was also transported in stable condition with no visible injuries but was transported also as a precaution.

It’s unclear, did DPS catch the toyota, or did they just drive away. Prayers for the officer. This right here goes to show, “No matter how much training and education is given the the operator of a motorcycle, It is still everyones responsibility to watch out for Motorcycles.
