FATAL CRASH 4300 COLLINGSWORTH

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 4300 Collingsworth about 8:05 p.m. on Saturday (Oct. 15).
The identity of the deceased male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer O. Sulaiman reported:

The victim was driving a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck at a high rate of speed eastbound on Collingsworth when he struck the rear of a black Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The pickup truck then left the roadway and struck a tree. Paramedics pronounced the driver dead at the scene. The driver of the Monte Carlo was transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

HOMICIDE 9400 CONCOURSE

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 9400 Concourse about 4:35 a.m. on Saturday (Oct. 15).
The victim, James Fleming Bowman, 73, of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives T. Ferguson and J. Villareal reported:

A witness in the 10100 block of Landsdale heard a gunshot and saw two Hispanic males and one Hispanic female running from the intersection at 9400 Concourse. One of the males had a white T-shirt pulled over his face. The witness went to see what happened and saw a uniformed security guard (Mr. Bowman) inside a vehicle with its door open. The witness found Bowman unresponsive and called 911. Paramedics pronounced Bowman deceased at the scene. Evidence indicates a possible struggle ensued for the keys to Bowman’s vehicle.

AUTO PEDESTRIAN FATAL SH 105
At 1 minute after midnight MCHD received a call for an auto-pedestrian crash at SH 105 West and Loop 336. Units responded and arrived at 12:06 a.m. They determined a male victim was deceased on the scene. According to Sgt. Robert Engel with the Conroe Police Department, the BMW was eastbound on SH 105 at Loop 336. An area of a roadway with no illumination. As the driver approached the intersection he spotted a white male walking across the lanes northbound. The driver who had left his daughter’s wedding did not have time to apply the brakes and struck the pedestrian. The driver, who was quite distraught was not injured. The driver showed no signs of impairment. Montgomery County Precinct 5 Justice of the Peace Matt Masden responded to the scene and ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the male victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy and identification. SH 105 eastbound remained closed until 4 a.m. No charges are being filed since the pedestrian failed to yield right of way to traffic.
