A call to the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office at approximately 2:30 pm this evening from family members on West Pine Street in the City of Daisetta, Texas reported their one-year-old little girl was missing. As Deputies were responding it was only a short time later that a member of the family found the child deceased in their above-ground swimming pool. According to Sheriff’s Lead Investigator Shandalynn Rhame when the medical personnel arrived, the child was being given CPR but she did not respond.
Investigators Rhame and Lucero Castro interviewed the parents and were told the child had been put down for a nap and when they checked on her about two hours later, she was not in her bed. Thinking the child had just walked away a missing person call was made to the Sheriff’s Office but the child was found a short time later deceased in the swimming pool.
Pct. 2 Justice of the Peace, Judge Ronnie Davis conducted the inquest and ordered an autopsy. Investigator Rhame said the investigation is still on-going
