Operation Ho Ho Ho

Source: Capt. Mike White

The Montgomery County Constable Pct. 2 Deputies along with the Montgomery County Constables Pct. 2 Mounted Posse will begin shopping center patrol on Saturday November 24th through Christmas. They are ready to help keep you safe during the holiday season providing riders on horseback and deputies in marked patrol units in the major shopping center parking lots. Constable Gene DeForest says that Operation Ho Ho Ho has been something that the Pct. 2 Constables Office has been doing for the past 17 years with great results. He says that he hopes their visibility will deter crime in the areas they are patrolling. The visibility of mounted deputies makes a great deterrent. Deputies on horseback are more maneuverable and have a height advantage over a deputy in a patrol unit by being able to see over the parked cars.

Constable DeForest says the approachability of the horses wearing their Christmas decorations makes them popular with the shoppers, many of whom come over to pet them and pose for pictures with them. (There is a rumor that the horses like peppermint candy) Constable DeForest wishes everyone a safe and happy holiday season.
