PATTON VILLAGE HOUSE FIRE

Just after 4:15 pm this afternoon Splendora Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire on Roping Pen Drive in Patton Village.
On arrival, they had a home totally involved and spreading to the residence next door.
A second alarm was called bringing in Caney Creek, New Caney, Porter, and Cleveland. The first structure was totally destroyed. The home next to it suffered some exterior and roof damage. Winds were the main concern as high winds fanned the flames and spread to nearby grass.
Ironically the homeowners association was in the process of purchasing the structure that burned, the one that was damaged and the one next to it. All three were scheduled for demolition this weekend.
Besides tankers hauling water firefighters were able to draft water from a Community Lake across the street.
The Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
