Multiple charges of Online Solicitation of a minor and possession of child pornography have been filed against Travis Jared Whittemore, 35, of Denton. The arrest was due to the hard work of a Montgomery County Precinct 1 Constable Office who is assigned to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. According to court documents last week Whittemore traveled from Dallas to Conroe to have a sexual encounter with a child under the age of 10. Lora Beckman, Montgomery County Assistant District Attorney said Whittemore is a former Air Force pilot and now a commercial airline pilot. After confiscating his phone investigators found child pornography. She wonders, with all his travels if there are other encounters and hope victims will come forward. She said social media apps are like a playground and children are the target. Whittemore is being held on three $30,000 bonds and faces a maximum of 20-years in prison for the online solicitation of a minor charge and 10-years for each of the possession of child pornography charges. He will also have to register as a sex offender. His next court appearance is on May 9th in Judge Patty Maginnis’s Court.
