According to Entergy-Texas almost 7,000 customers were affected this afternoon with a power outage that lasted over two hours. The cause was not as many people being the extreme heat.
Actually a cradle mounted between two poles and supporting a transformer gave way causing it to fall severing three main electrical feeders.
Entergy Texas said even with the extreme heat Entergy has plenty of power to meet the demand and the only equipment failure besides today’s incident are mainly caused by lightning or trees down during some of the recent brief but semi-violent storms.
Some of the larger businesses were also affected including the Porter Home Depot and Walmart.
