PORTER FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDS TO LARGE ILLEGAL BURN

Just after 11 am this morning Porter Fire Department responded to an illegal burn 20050 Spring Hill near Oak Hill just off FM 1314. When units arrived they realized this was the second trip in two months to the same location.

When they arrived on the scene they found not just a grass and woods fire but three large piles of tree stumps and logs that were burning extremely hot. In al it took six pieces of fire equipment to fight the fire and shuttle water. New Caney Fire Department was called to back into Porters Station to cover their territory as they worked on the scene for almost three hours.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded as did Assistant Fire Marshal Joe Manz who issued the homeowner a citation for illegal burn.

Just as they were finishing Attascocita Fire Department requested Porter’s assistance on a grass and woods fire on Woodland Hills and FM 1960. New Caney responded for the assist.
