PRAYER VIGIL TONIGHT FOR CANEY CREEK BASEBALL PLAYER KILLED IN CRASH

Just after 7:30 pm Saturday Dustin Gerke, a 17-year-old Caney Creek Senior and star baseball player was traveling at an unsafe speed north on FM 1484 near Cedar Lane when his 2002 Frontier left the roadway. Gerke over corrected and flipped several times.  North Montgomery County Fire responded along with MCHD. Medics on the scene were unable to revive Gerke. His 18-year old female passenger was transported to the hospital in stable condition.  Gerke who played baseball at Caney Creek High School for the past two years was a very liked person by all his friends. A vigil will be held tonight (Wednesday) at 7:30 pm at the Caney Creek Baseball Field at FM 2090 and FM 1485. Everyone is encouraged to wear black and hot pink.  A GO Fund Me has been set up to help with final expenses.
