The Mongomery County Precinct 4 Constables office along with the Houston SPCA seized four horses that were in very poor health conditions. There had been five but one was put down a few days ago due to his health conditions. Over the past year several trips have been made to the home in the 9000 block of Fostoria. Most of the trips dealt with the horses getting out. The others were dealing with issues on the horses.
When crews arrived just before 10 am on Friday there was no hay, no grass in the pasture and no feed out.
Judge Metts signed the seizure order allowing the Houston SPCA to take custody of the horses until a hearing before Judge Metts.
According to Don Smith, Precinct 4 Livestock Officer, the horses had little to eat and were witnessed eating their own manure.
