PRECINCT 4 CREWS REPLACE BRIDGE

Crews with Montgomery County Precinct 4 Commissioners Office are out working on the Rocky Road bridge off FM 1485 today. After Commissioner Mett’s closed the bridge when an inspection revealed rotted timbers. Today they started removing the road surface and replacing the old creosote timbers many of which were rotted with new treated 12″ x12″ timbers. Once the beams are complete new timbers will be placed on the surface. There are many of these old bridges around the county. Once this bridge is complete it will support a truck of 100,000 pounds. It should be completed this week. The bridge is a go-between Jefferson Chemical Road at FM 3083 and FM 1485.
