PURSUIT ENDS IN CRASH-PASSENGER CRITICAL

Just after 5pm Splendora officers attempted to stop a Toyota Tundra on Lucas at FM 2090. They quickly terminated the pursuit due to heavy traffic. Witnesses told them the truck turned south on Tram Road. A short time later, a Roman Forest Officer aware of the pursuit in Splendora spotted the truck in Roman Forest. It quickly sped up before she even activated her lights. The driver traveled down the wrong side of Appian Way at speeds of close to 80 mph before running a work van off the road. The driver of the Tundra then lost control, traveled across the median and the opposing lanes of traffic before striking a pine tree. The passenger was able to free himself, however the driver and a female passenger were trapped. The female passenger is currently in surgery at Kingwood Hospital in critical condition with a head injury. The other two remain critical.
