PURSUIT ENDS IN FATAL CRASH

Saturday morning, around 2 a.m.,  a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department patrol unit attempted to stop a 2007 Honda four-wheeler on Old River Road near SH 105. When ordered to pull over, the driver fled at speeds of forty to sixty miles per hour through the Cape Conroe Subdivision, the same subdivision in which four teens broke into multiple vehicles last weekend to stealing computers, cash, guns and other items, including a deputy constables unmarked patrol vehicle.

The chase lasted approximately ten minutes. before the driver, 17 year-old Samuel Acreman, failed to negotiate a deep curve and ran off the road. Acreman struck a driveway, continued across, hitting a culvert pipe before crashing into and leveling a brick wall. Acreman was ejected from the vehicle and severely injured. MCHD and Montgomery Fire Department were dispatched to the scene but were unable to save Acreman.

The Texas Department of Public Safety and the Montgomery County District Attorney’ s Office investigated the crash.
