Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop an SUV on FM 1314 near Riverwalk about 5:30 pm this evening. The vehicle accelerated and sped south on FM 1314 toward US 59. As units sat waiting the vehicle sped through the intersection and proceeded at speeds up to 120 mph south bound on US 59. At one point HPD advised their units to stay out of the chase which continued south to Parker Road. There the vehicle continued down Jensen Drive to Laura Koppe. With Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Precinct 4 Constables still in pursuit the suspects ran into a field and jumped out into the woods.
An HPD helicopter was able to locate both suspects in the wooded area. One was tased by a Precinct 4 Deputy as they attempted to detain them.
Once back at the vehicle six bundles of marijuana were found in the back with a total weight of over 200 pounds.
Both suspects are waiting to be identified by immigration and will be booked into the Montgomery County Jail.
