A pursuit on US 59 ended quickly Friday morning. A Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department patrol unit spotted a stolen truck on US 59 southbound near Northpark. When the deputy attempted to stop the vehicle the vehicle sped up and exited the entrance ramp between Northpark and Kingwood Drive After a short pursuit down the feeder the truck turned onto the property of a church running across the grass and stopping behind the Paramont Apartments on Kellington Drive. One black male was quickly taken into custody.The second male jumped the fence onto the apartment complex property and ran through the complex across Kellington and onto the property of the Mallard Creek Apartments across the street. Witnesses then reported him entering the woods.
Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constables Office responded with a dog as did Houston Police Department K-9. As the woods were being searched and supervisors were reviewing the pursuit video it was noted one suspect has semi-automatic pistol in his possession.
A short time later he was spotted by a K-9 Officer and Houston Police Helicopter. A DPS Trooper who was assisting in the pursuit took him into custody. The pistol was also recovered.
