-Three suspects are on the run in North Harris County after a strange evening that ended with a Precinct 4 deputy constable shooting a dog.
According to Constable Mark Herman, authorities received a call about a suspicious vehicle Monday afternoon.
When deputy constables arrived, they say the driver raced away and led them on a brief chase. Soon, the driver ditched the vehicle and six young men – some of them juveniles – ran out.
Deputy constables searched the vehicle and say they found several weapons and masks.
Three suspects were apprehended, but three others got away.
The constable says one of the suspects led authorities to a home, claiming that he would turn in his friend.
When several deputy constables and a K9 unit arrived, one of the residents opened the door after the officers identified themselves. That’s when a pit-bull charged out of the door, and threatened the K9 officer.
A deputy constable shot the dog, The dog was taken to the vet and it is expected to survive.
