Just before 2 a.m. a Montgomery County Deputy was patrolling in the area of Loop 494 and Kings Colony when he spotted a suspicious silver 2002 Chevrolet Suburban. When he attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver sped up. The SUV drove up US-59 to the Grand Parkway then west on SH 99. At speeds up to 100 mph the driver exited at FM 1314 and then drove north on FM 1314 at speeds of 100 mph as he ran the red light at Gene Campbell. By this point other units could attempt an intercept and assisted in the chase. When the driver passed Old Houston, he ran through a gate and onto a pipeline easement. For a short time, deputies lost sight of him in the heavy dust. The driver continued the line about another mile when he stopped and fled into the woods on foot. A K-9 responded to the scene but was unable to locate the driver. The SUV was stolen from the Shenandoah area on October 24th.
