On January 31, 2017 at approximately 1705 hours, Pct. 4 deputy observed a motorcycle with no plate visible. He attempted to make a traffic stop, at which time the driver turned to look behind him and took off. The deputy advised of the pursuit which was only around 50 miles an hour through a subdivision and back onto Northpark Drive. Houston Police were working an accident and HPD officer stood out in the street and stopped the motorcycle. As the Pct. 4 deputy took subject to the ground a gun fell out of his boot and onto the ground. The driver was identified as Shaffer, Dillon Jay 10/15/1991, and was placed into custody. A search of Shaffer’s backpack found scales, baggies and pipes. A total of 5 baggies field tested positive for Methamphetamine with an approx. weight of 103.41 grams. Also recovered were pills and a bag with approx. 0.794 oz. of marijuana. After identifying the 2013 Honda CB500 motorcycle, it came back stolen out of Conroe P.D. Shaffer was also in possession of a GPS ankle monitor on his left leg and had a blue warrant out of Pardon and Parole. Shaffer was arrested for Felony- Evading Arrest/Detention, Felony- Manufacturer/Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Felony- Felon in Possession of a Firearm and the Felony blue warrant.
