Roman Forest Public Utility District 3 head by President Ruth Ann Rawlins unanimously approved the transfer of 3 lots to the Montgomery County Emergency Service District 7 for the purpose of a public safety building to house the Roman Forest Police and Fire Departments.

The East Montgomery Fire Department and the Roman Forest Police Department are jointly applying for grant funding for this public safety building. The idea is to put 2 public safety entities into one building that can share rather than duplicate space and costs.

“By working together Police and Fire can share space and costs,” said Roman Forest Police Chief Stephen Carlisle. “The cost savings to the tax payers and a better service for the community is what’s important.”

This location in Roman Forest Section 4 will strategically relocate the Fire Department to better serve the district.

The property is located at the corner of Roman Forest Blvd & Galaxy Blvd which will assist with reduced response times for the areas of in the eastern portions of our fire district.

“Relocating our existing Fire Station 152 east of Peach & Caney Creeks prevents the fire department from limited access to the eastern portion of our fire district during major flooding events,” said EMC Fire Chief Jeff Taylor. “The the donation of real property from Roman Forest PUD 3 provides a savings to the tax payers as will the multi-use facility for both fire & police department.”
