Sam’s Club awards grant to Needham Fire and Rescue

SHENANDOAH- Sam’s Club 4713 presented Needham Fire and Rescue with a grant check for $1,000 at Station 61 on April 23. The grant was part of the Walmart Foundation’s effort to support local communities.

Terri Golightly, Membership/Marketing Team Leader for Sam’s Club said the grant is awarded to schools and organizations in the community that are chosen after an application process. Needham Fire and Rescue was the only fire department to receive the grant this quarter. Golightly personally presented the check to NFR Chief Kevin Hosler.

“We’d like to express our sincere gratitude to Sam’s Club for helping us with this grant,” Hosler said. “The money will be used to update and add equipment to an all-terrain rescue vehicle.”

The Chief said the local Sam’s Club has always supported his department, particularly in the aftermath of Hurricane Ike, when they provided 18 urgently needed pallets of water.

“Their assistance was tremendous during Ike,” Hosler said.

The local Sam’s Club has been generous with NFR in many ways, he said.

Sam’s Club 4713 is located at 19091 I-45 South in Shenandoah. The General Manager is Chuck Coughlin.
