Saturday night the Montgomery County Fair held the Youth Activity Night. It included several events from Mutton Riding, barrel racing but the event most were waiting on was the calf scramble. As the kids lined up looking at which calf they thought they were going to catch and get it back in the square, Conroe Police Officer James Keleman gave the go.
Just one week prior he was shot in the face responding to a disturbance call at the Discount Bakery on North Loop 336. Since then and his surgery last Monday nothing has slowed him down.
Seventeen-year-old Madison Talbert, a Montgomery High School Junior was selected as this years Fair Queen. Runners up were Abbey Jacks, of Caney Creek, Morgan Ubanoski of Montgomery High. Willis High School’s Meghan Ropkowski was named Miss Congeniality.
