SCHOOL EVACUATED AFTER GAS LEAK

Construction crews at the site of Peet  Junior High School on Sgt. Ed Holcomb in Conroe nicked a gas line just after 9 a.m. Tuesday morning. With the close proximity to the building Conroe Firefighters took the extra precaution of evacuating the school.  Several students without jackets snuggled tight to one another with temperatures in the mid-50’s and a brisk wind. Others seemed to enjoy getting some fresh air.

Firefighters plugged the leak and made a room to room search to make sure there was not gas odor in the classrooms.

Centerpoint arrived and repaired the leak allowing students and staff to return to the building.
