Just after 8 pm Friday night Montgomery County Search and Rescue along with the Lone Star Task Force were dispatched to several victims lost in the woods behind the Wood Branch Community in East Montgomery County. The caller stated her mother had gone out in the woods and was injured. She also stated she spoke Italian and no English. Teams mobilized and started searching nearly 500 acres of heavy wooded terrain. About 5 hours into the search one team can upon what they called a snake pit, a pit with close to at least 100 snakes. It was just past there that the woman was found. With communications difficulty they were able to learn that she had been with two others. One had broken a leg. She then attempted to go for help but got lost. At 5 am the teams were still searching for the other two victims.
