ON-SCENE UPDATE FROM LCSO: The search for Dennis Rogers has been temporarily suspended, due to a possible criminal investigation based on a credible tip, according to the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office.
This investigation DOES NOT INVOLVE Dennis Rogers’ family.
No further information is available at this time.
We will update as soon as more details are released.
At 8:00 a.m. volunteers were organized at the Plum Grove city hall and under the direction of Liberty County Sheriff’s Office Captain Rex and Texas Equusearch. Teams were dispatched to areas southeast of Plum Grove to start the search. Mostly four-wheelers and horses are involved at this time. There will be no foot search until conditions improve. Most roads are either in water or covered completely. Walkers are unable to see bottom as there are many dropoffs and ruts.
Several other leads have been followed up on. Early today a report came in that Mr. Rogers was seen on FM 2100. Harris County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched but was unable to find anything. Another report came from a small store near US 59 and the County Line which at this time has not been totally disqualified.
Volunteers with horses and four-wheelers are welcome but will be traveling in assigned groups. They must first check in at the Plum Grove city hall.
Motorists are also urged to report any sightings along the roadway in the area.
Additional reports as they are available.
MCPR will be on the location for the duration of the search.
