SEARCH CONTINUES FOR TRINITY RIVER DROWNING VICTIM

Just a little after 4pm Sunday San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office received a call on a drowning on the Trinity River. The location was on the county line between Polk and San Jacinto Counties directly under US Highway 59.
Angel Fuentes, age 24 of Houston was swimming at the boat ramp as he and his family were enjoying a Memorial Day outing. Family members said they saw him go under, surface again and then disappeared under water again.
San Jacinto County Sheriff’s office stood by to keep the small crowd of onlookers back as members of the Sheperd Volunteer Fire Department, Texas Parks and Wildlife and Cleveland Fire Department started the search of the river using boats and divers. A sonar unit was also brought in from Montgomery County.
