Approximately 3am Montgomery County Precinct 4 deputies executed a search warrant for Joshua Joehlin, age 20, at a location on Dunn Street in the New Caney area. When they arrived they met with the home owner John Mark Tanner who advised them the person they were looking for was not at the location. He gave them permission to search his home to verify his story.
As Deputies, Bergland, Looza and Ford entered the home they detected a strog odor of marijuana and spotted a pipe and marijuana on a small table. As they checked the bedrooms they observer Tanner walk out the back door with a large shopping bag and a trash bag.
As deputies went out back to check what he was removing they discovered he was attempting to sneak out multiple packages of marijuana. In addition they recovered a little over $600 in cash.
He was taken into custody and transported to the East Montgomery County Jail.
The total weight was just under 2 pounds and Tanner was filed on for Possession of Marijuana greater then 4 ounces but less than 5 pounds a $3000 bond was set for that charge. In addition the District Attorney’s office accepted Tampering, Fabricating Physical Evidence with intent To Impair for attempting to dispose of the marijuana. A $6000 bond has been set for that charge.
