SEVEN INJURED IN PLANT EXPLOSION

An explosion occurred Saturday in a sawdust collection system at the Georgia Pacific Plant roughly 20 miles north of Livingston, in Corrigan, Texas. Seven men were injured, three of which were critically wounded. Four Air Medical helicopters were launched to transport four of those critically burned patients to Houston.

The Corrigan Fire Department arrived on the scene as crews from the plant were already fighting the blaze. They were assisted by Diboll, Livingston, Apple Springs and Onalaska Fire Departments.
