Surgical team rounded EARLY this morning so I figured I’d just update as we go today so things don’t get missed…… So in general Chris got ZERO rest last night, so please pray for that to change! He was up asking to be suctioned or scratched about every 30min. He is very restless and the intubation tube is bothering him…. The tube feeding went well for the short amount of time he had it yesterday and his sugar stayed pretty steady. It’s a possibility today or tomorrow he will have the IVC filter placed to catch the blood clot in his calf if it were to move before it could reach his lungs. They have also done a consult for a pic line (a different type of IV line besides the central line he has). He has developed some swelling/redness on his right arm looks like phelibitis from an old IV site. They are planning on decreasing his ventilator settings again today so let’s pray he tolerates that ok. They are also looking at asking physical therapy to evaluate him and possibly set him up in a chair today. Looks like another 4hrs oder dialysis for this sweet man again today also, kidneys look like they are trying to come back just slowly….. Please keep those prayers coming… surgery for the filter is risking because of his bleeding risk for a blood clot being thrown to the lungs is even worse…..
Update #2 for today… Just got word surgery for IVC filter will be around 12noon today… PRAYERS PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE…for success, no bleeding, no new infections afterwards!!!
