Sheriff Greg Capers Reports a Busy Weekend in San Jacinto County

On Friday, March 18, 2016 at around 9am, the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call in the Cape Royale subdivision regarding a male attempting to enter an elderly female’s residence and pointed a handgun at her. Deputies responded to the home in the Harbor Row area and met with the 81 year old complainant who related that her neighbor, identified as Timothy Steven Brittain W/M 38 of Harbor Row Ln., appeared at her glass patio door screaming at her and banging on the door. She demanded the male leave her property, however, he continued his attempt to enter her home. She stated the suspect physically assaulted her as he was trying to force his way into her home and he drew a pistol from a holster on his side and pointed it at her stating he would kill her. The male fled to a vehicle where a female neighbor was waiting for him and left the scene.

Later in the day, a male arrived at the Sheriff’s Office to ‘complain’ about the woman in this case. He was wearing a pistol in a holster on his side. Deputies identified him and confirmed he was a License to Carry (LTC) holder. After discovering his connection to this case, he was disarmed and taken into custody. Brittain is charged with Deadly Conduct and Injury to the elderly. During his arrest he was found to be in possession of illegal drugs and the charge of Possession of a Dangerous Drug was added to his booking sheet. Brittain is held on $42,500 in total bonds. The woman’s injuries were checked by EMS at the scene.
