On Saturday, August 11th, 2018 the Cleveland Police Department Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Frances and Hortense Streets in regards to gunshots being fired in the vicinity. Upon arrival, Officers searched the area to locate involved parties. During their investigation, Officers were able to determine the shots were fired towards a residence located on Helen Street. A search of the crime scene led Officers to recover several shell casings and other related evidence. Officers met with several citizens who assisted with providing a description of the suspect vehicle.
While Officer Joe Rosas was searching the area, he located a vehicle matching the description on Hortense Street. Officer Rosas met with several persons at this residence. Officer Rosas was able to gain consent to search the residence. While searching the residence, Officer Rosas located an AK-47 Rifle that was believed to be involved in the shooting. At this point in the investigation, Officer Rosas was unable to determine which subject conducted the shooting but did seize the firearm as evidence for further investigation.
Several days later, Officer Rosas conducted a follow-up investigation at the residence. While speaking with occupants of the residence, Officer Rosas was able to obtain a confession from the person who conducted the shooting. Officer Rosas found the shooting was motivated by an ongoing argument with an occupant of the residence that was fired upon.
A warrant for “Deadly Conduct” (State Jail Felony) was obtained for the arrest of “Jose Armando Faz Pimentel” (age 19 of Cleveland). Faz Pimentel was arrested by the Cleveland Police Department following the issuance of the warrant. Faz Pimentel was magistrated by Municipal Judge Bob Steely. A bond of 12,000.00 was assessed.
