NORTH MONTGOMERY COUNTY- A rollover accident on Saturday afternoon injured six unrestrained children, sending them to area hospitals. The children included a 6-month-old male, four girls ages 3 years, 4 years, 5 years, and 6 years and a 7-year-old male. None of them were properly restrained or in child safety seats required by Texas law.

The driver was 27-year-old Charles Earl Dorsey of Baytown and the adult passenger was 28-year-old Shamarra Shawnta Dorsey of West Columbia. They were also transported by ground ambulance to area hospitals.

The 2002 Saturn sedan was on the northbound main lanes of I-45 when it left the roadway for unknown reasons and rolled, partially ejecting the six children.

Conroe and North Montgomery County Fire Departments responded, along with MCHD EMS and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, whose officers are conducting the investigation.

Since the driver was hospitalized, no citations were issued.
