Tuesday afternoon saw the fourth crash in two weeks on Gulf Coast Road. The narrow road that runs between FM 1314 and FM 3083 has always been heavily traveled, but lately has become the source of much danger. In each of the crashes, motorists were exceeding the 35 MPH posted speed limit. Today’s crash was only ten feet from the crash last Friday.
A Trooper who had left the area only minutes before after working radar on the road returned to the scene for the investigation. Due to his proximity to the accident, he was able to return quickly and get the road reopened.
