Over the past week Splendora Fire Department/ M.C.E.S.D. #11 has worked with Community Mitigation Analysts to improve ISO ratings in some of the more rural areas of the fire district. By improving the departments ISO ratings many residents of the district can expect to see a decrease in Homeowner’s Insurance premiums regarding their Fire Protection. The ISO rating changes will impact hundreds of homes within the district. The department would like to urge residents in the district, particularly residents in the Fostoria/Morgan Cemetery area of the district, to contact their Homeowners Insurance providers after November and see if the ISO rating change has affected them. “This is a small change that will only save residents a little, but our department knows all too well that every penny counts. Yes, our mission is to protect resident’s life and property, but that doesn’t mean we can’t help protect their pocketbook too! Our Department hopes to be on track to go after another ISO rating change in February of 2014”, says Chief Frazier.
