William Lingle, 23 was arrested last Friday morning after he was observed removing copper from a junction box located outside a townhouse under construction in the 1600 block of Sycamore in Huntsville. Lingle who is part of a clean-up crew for construction sites . His co-workers spotted him and when they attempted to confront him he fled on foot..

Huntsville Police were notified and located him shortly after at Sam Houston and Montgomery streets in Huntsville.

Lingle is charged with theft of material and was given a $10,000 bond. He was attempting to remove 27 feet of copper wiring from the box.

Back in February $15000 in wiring was stolen from the same construction site when 18 units were hit. Also last month not far away on Montgomery Road a cell tower was hit for $15,000 in copper.

    I hope they throw the book at him. The $30,000 in wiring is just a drop in the bucket compared to what it will cost for the labor and lost time to fix.
